The ACIM book gives it's perspective on
the ego. To me it says that the ego is created by each of us, based
on the belief that we are separate from God and the world. It goes on
to say that this belief is an error, and the ego we create is based
on that error.
What we create, we love, so we love the
ego. We can't not love what we create, because of the way we were
created by God. God loves us because he created us, and that is
unchangeable. But errors can be changed because they are not real.
God has saved us from our own errors, but we have to ask for it. We
have to want God's peace.
We can not fight the ego because
fighting it makes it stronger in us. We have to invite the holy
spirit in us to show us another way to see the world that is really
part of us. Seeing the other way is a healing miracle.
